Overview
The Foundation programme equips students with the necessary fundamental knowledge to pursue their university studies. This flexible programme ensures students are grounded with a strong grasp of core subjects, as well as a variety of other subjects to give them a broad-based educational platform. It also helps them to explore new methods and ideas, as well as skills and concepts, to encourage independent and critical thinking.

The Foundation in Science is a one-year programme that provides students with 3 main areas of specialization:

  • Pure Science
  • Engineering
  • IT or Computer Science

Note: The academic quality of this foundation programme will enable students to seamlessly move into any undergraduate degree programme with UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College

Programme information

Engineering may not be the easiest areas of study, but it is the subject areas that continue to be in demand, and the graduates are also more likely to find employment quickly and work their way up the career ladder with an engineering degree under their belt. As Malaysia strives towards a developed nation status, engineers have a key-role to play in enhancing the quality of life through the advancement of science and technology. With such a pivotal role to play, qualified and skilled engineers are in escalating demand and will remain to be throughout the world.
