UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College Secures The Fundamental Research Grant Scheme 2018-Phase 1


UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College has managed to obtain RM 61,000.00 of research fund from the ministry of education under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS). The project entitled Modelling of the effect of surface roughness in plastic strain gradient theory of indentation size effect for micro-indentation is lead by Dr.Chuah Hun Guan and co-researcher Dr. How Heoy Geok from the Department of Engineering.

In its 1st attempt since qualifying to apply for government grant, UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College has shown its researchers capacity in acquiring for research funding. UOW Malaysia KDU Penang supports the staff with training on how to apply for research grant and also by providing an internal research grant. This shows that UOW Malaysia KDU Penang is focused on lifting its research capacity to the next level. UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College congratulates Dr.Chuah and team as well as the Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) for their hard work in securing Malaysia’s most challenging research grant scheme.
